Maintence Help please....
Hey Guys,
Im at 35K miles and would like to do some things. Even if it isnt time to for some, its for piece of mind.... These will all be done by my mechanic, I just want the best products to bring him...
-Brake Fluid replace - Best brand you know of.
-Engine Coolant - Specifics on brands, I know a few guys ad water. I dunno
-Belt - I assume OEM?

Brake fluid change is a good idea. The engine coolant and belt is early for replacement, however for your peace of mind, if I was in your shoes I would go OEM for all three. If you are going other than OEM on coolant make sure it is green. Any other color could damage the system.
For brake fluid I would reccomend ATE Dot 4. 100% compatible with Dot 3 and it's a better fluid. ATE is also a top rated brand used by BMW and others.
For the belt I would highly reccomend Gates or Gatorback but you can't go wrong with the OEM belt. Just changed my with te Stillen UDP and they use a Gates belt.
As for the coolant, despite popular belief the color of the coolant no longer matters. As long as the coolant is OAT then it should be fine for your car's cooling system. You would honestly be perfectly fine with Prestone 50/50 and you'll need just a little over 2 gallons of the 50/50 mix. But again the OEM long lasting coolant is good

I wouldn't normally change the brake fluid until at least 60k.
The belts should be changed as deemed appropriate.
Coolant drain & fill as per manual states 60k. Any type of pre mix fluid works fine regardless of color. One thing I don't understand is why the manual states that the first coolant change should be done at 60k but then the next one is at 90k? Anyone have any ideas?

Brake fluid should be bled out and replaced every two to three years, so based on a average yearly mileage of 10-15,000 miles for most drivers, that sounds on point. During this time, you should also check for brake pad and rotor wear and see if they need replacing so you can knock out these steps out once.
