Door molding question?.... please help!!!!
Door molding question?.... please help!!!!
Anyone here know whats behind the door molding or the "bump/ding guards"(exterior) itself?? any holes or rivets or whatever?? im thinking of removing them to give the outside of all 4 doors a cleaner look. I know ther will be a small indentation across both doors regardless, i just cant stand the way the molding looks on the car.
BTW: Shadows max gave me the idea!
please post ONLY if you have a straight answer to this!
thanks,
Anthony

There are NO holes. Mlgd is held on by a double side tape. If you do a serch you should find this previously descussed. Heat mldgs with heat gun, rip em off...clean leftover adheasive with wd40 or a packaged "glue" removal product available at most autopart stores. If typos above its cause kid spilled orange juice on my keyboard...
There are holes. At least there were on my '97. I thought about pulling them a long time ago because one came loose, but there are little holes behind it for some plastic clips. My body shop guy had to fill the holes before priming and painting the whole thing.

I think you may be referring to the vinyl between the windows. The black part. If so, there are no holes there, only tape. I was the one who found that out. But if you are talking about the side moldings on each door, there are most definitely holes. Unless my car was just special or something.
