I have a 2012 Maxima and have a issue with my rear shocks. Really noticeable after the car has been sitting for a few a few hours. When driving over speed bumps a hear a knock at the top of the shock, this is duplicated individually when the right or left shock goes over the bump. I mean you will the knock on the left side then on the right side depending on which side goes over the bump first.

I took to dealer, they drove car with me (of course noise was minimal).
They replaced rear sway bar bushings and after having driving the car a few days, they rear shock noise still exists.

I'm still under warranty, what would be the next step. Could the shocks be defective?

This isn't much help, but I had the same noise your talking about, I can't explain it but since I've had the eibachs installed the knock is gone.

 

I'm going back to the dealer and tell him noise still exist and will try to get them to put in new shocks.
