Car is at the dealership now. Second time for this issue. I sit in my car for about 10 mins with engine off and accessories on. Common thing is the headlights have always been left on by accident or auto feature. Go to start car after 10 mins and it is just about dead, just enough to get my windows up. I come out at lunch time and car starts right up and runs fine.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The original batteries in the 7th gen Maxima are a rather weak 5.5 Cold Cranking Amp product that absolutely does NOT allow for listening to the radio with the motor off. Sometimes, just letting the car sit awhile will bring back enough power to start the car, but that is playing with fire. Sooner or later it will leave you stranded.

Nissan makes a 7.0 CCA battery that works wonderfully well for $128 minus $14 for trade-in of the old battery, giving a driveout of $114. But you can probably beat that price if you look around, especially if you catch a sale. There are many threads here on batteries. I think any good battery with a CCA of 6.4 or better will serve your needs.

p.s. - If I were you, I would make the switch before winter arrives.

Yeah the stock battery for the Max is horrible!! After purchasing mine I immediately brought a Optima Red Top battery. I've had it for 3yrs now & I've had no problems.

So you'd definitely want to go purchase a new battery.
