260,000 mile front pads vs new

Thought I would change out my front pads this weekend and was very surprised how much was left on the original vs brand new pads.

The pad on the left is the original OEM pad on my 09 Max with 260,000 miles

I bet the rubber pedal cover on the inside of the car is also virtually new looking!

Amazing. What is your average speed?

LOL.. why yes, the pedal cover does look pretty good! My commute is 160 miles every day with mostly highway. So my "average" speed over the course of a day is around 53mph.

I do drive with my "fingers" on the cruise control (coast and accel,) and tend to downshift instead of brake when possible. (when you leave the house at 0530 and get home at 2000, traffic thins out quite a bit so not much stop and go!)

260k? Nice! Any issues with the car during this time?

how about the rear pads at 260k? Car's nowadays usually use the rear pads more than the front pads for light braking.

I had issues with my climate controlled seat, battery replaced, my radiator fans replaced, and my alternator failed at 255,000. Of course gone thru a few sets of tires. All in all, a VERY reliable ride!

Me and you both, good job LT. I figured you'd be a Captain or Major by now and you may very well be, if so then it's time for a screen name change.

260K and doing the brakes for the first time? That's insane!
I was at 90K on my Honda Accord and thought that was great, 260K is impressive. If I get half of that on my first set of brakes I'll be happy.
