RacingLine Y-pipe comparison to stock:

Old vs new y-pipe. The factory pipe is about 1" thick after the flex pipe section. The tight u-bend is significantly more restrictive than the larger bend, and the diameter of the pipe is much more consistent.
When ordering, you will need to get the gaskets, either from them or a parts store.
You will also need to go to the hardware store and pick up the following:
2x 10M-1.25 x30mm
2x 10M-1.25 nut
2x 10M lock washer
The factory has studs to the mid pipe, while the RL pipe just has holes.

Very cool that you added what parts are needed!

Ditto. I'm actually curious to hear the sound of the exhaust both before and after.

I already had magnaflow mufflers and high flow resonator installed.

I am very happy so far, and there is a noticeable gain in power. The exhaust note has lowered slightly, and a little bit of drone has mellowed some.
It is part placebo, but I feel the car is a bit faster to 30, and really wakes up as you go faster. There is a significant reduction in back pressure and it is noticeable.

Install tips:
Get a friend to help. It will make life much easier.
Start with the front flange, then work your way back when getting bolt holes lined up. This way the flex pipes help you.

Is it me, or does both the stock y-pipe and racingline y-pipe departed from the equal length exhaust of past generations? It seems like the rear bank has to travel a little further than the front bank. That would probably account for the deeper tone.

Thanks for the review!

Something else to consider....the RL pipe has NO heat shielding and it does run relatively close to the transmission.
This may or may not cause any issues but I erred on the side of caution and covered the forward section of the Y-pipe with header wrap.

Considering the dealership just pulls off the shielding if it starts to rattle, I would say it makes no difference.
The dealer sound is from the larger diameter pipe. This is the science of standing waves.

The last generation to have a close to equal length setup was the 5th gen, its rear cat was alot shorter allowing for the rear piping to bend towards the rear of the car sooner. It also and had a single "I" shaped subframe that allowed for alot more room under the motor for tubing.

The 6th and 7th gens use a "K" type engine subframe that is alot sturdier for the chassis but allows for less exhaust routing. The rear cat on the 6th/7th gen is also facing the front on the car, to make it go too quickly to the rear would create a severe angle that would hinder exhaust flow.

I have had the RL y-pipe on my 2010 for 2 years now. Installed on...baahhhh....I was in Arizona, so early 2012. Either way - I also have the Megan Racing cat-back exhaust. This is just a forewarning NOT to install this exhaust system with this y-pipe. The mufflers don't line up right for some reason and it looks like some tacky-a** Honda. Found out from personal experience. Megan Racing even had me take lots of crazy measurements and they sent me another muffler (right side)....installed it and no change. Another member on the board said that installing the RL y-pipe is what goofed up the alignment of the mufflers.

Either way, I like the y-pipe. It definitely does make a difference at high rpm. Sometimes, it's kind of scary how it rockets away. It always had pretty impressive power, but the y-pipe makes quite a difference in power.

Late,
Trav

Would this have any performance gains with stock mufflers? I don't want it any louder than stock. The reason I am asking is this is my first maxima, before this I had mustangs and switching from an h pipe to an x pipe even with stock mufflers had some gains.

Yes, you will see most of, if not all, the gains even with the stock mufflers.
The gains are from free up the restriction right at the beginning of the exhaust.

The restriction from the one 180 bend for the rear bank is equal to 4 feet of straight pipe.
It is the cheapest hp/$ mod in existence.

Do I need to order gaskets or anything else to get this slapped in? Like should I order header wrap and gaskets?

You will need gaskets for the front two flanges. That info is in the first post. The mid pipe has a reusable metal gasket.
No need for header wrap, but you could if you want to.

You will need to get three bolt flange gaskets. I would have recommended ordering them from RL with the pipe. You can check your local parts store to see if they have them. You won't be able to reuse the factory, as they are a compression ring style gasket, not a layer style.

They had emailed me and said they were waiting for a new shipment of pipe. I got an email a few days ago that it was shipping so I should have it this week hopefully.

Great! I went ahead and put in my order, too. It's been helpful to read the positive comments here regarding the RL Y Pipe.

Some say there is a slight tone and volume change.
With the increased flow, the volume may increase minimally, but the factory mufflers are very good at what they were designed to do.

Should work with almost all cat back systems.
