Do you guys always use the parking brake?
I only use it if I'm parking uphill or downhill. Just got used to not using it otherwise because once had someone forgot to remove the parking brake when they took my car (not my Maxima) someplace and they drove on it awhile until realizing why the car felt funny...
wont cause a problem, only time ive had it be a problem is storing my cars over winter. when i parked one of my cars for about 6 months i left the Ebrake on and when i started it up in spring i put it in reverse and the car wouldnt move. E-brake stuck on and i had to give it some throttle before there was a THUNK and the pads let go lol
Always. I grew up in Vancouver, lots of hills. When I was 12 a car rolled down our street and crashed into our front porch, yes that cars handbrake was not applied.
In Ontario with our salt use on the winter roads, the parking brake is either to be used 100% or not at all, the cables seize up quite quickly with lack of use.

Been using the parking brake since having to pay for a broken tranny pawl back in the 1960s. I engage my parking brake BEFORE moving the gearshift to park so as to avoid any pressure on the pawl.
If parking for more than a day or so, I try to find fairly level ground so I don't have to engage the parking brake very tightly.
If parked on a steep slope, I cut my wheels to take advantage of using the curb to hold the car. If there is no curb, I move the tranny out of park and into gear before releasing the parking brake so as not to snap the pawl with sudden pressure as the car begins rolling when the parking brake is released.

I use mine whenever the grade is steep to help take wear and tear off that cog in the trans that keeps your car stationary. Few worse feelings than letting off the brake and having your car lurch for what feels like a foot.
