Yes. Paint related problems are rampant on the 5-gens. Do a search and you will be in good company. Misery likes that.

I had to touch up in maybe 8-10 places. It doesn't look too bad, though, especially if the car is a little dirty, LOL. But my car is 1.5 yrs old now and 22K miles.

it's kinda like wearing that brand spankin' new shoe as a kid (for me, back in the day.. air jordans) and u use your spit to wipe every little mark and blemish on the shoe. but then after a while, u say who the heck cares and start splashing in the mud...

Re: How Many of you Maxima Owners Have Scratches?

You should ask how many Max owners DON'T have scratches!

My car only has a few major scratches and chips. I got a small dent and large chip on the rear right corner last week. Some idiot probably hit it in a parking lot. Every time I wax my car and look at it closely, it's inevitably depressing because new scratches turn up.

I literally have hundreds of scratches across my hood and doors. And a lot of paint chips too. Touch up paint (aka nail-polish) will only work for very small chips.

Meguiars scratch remover removed about 90% of my scratches. I didn't get a chance to wax the car, it rained the next day, and all the scratches came back. I will try again when it gets warmer. I'm gonna go to the dealership and throw a fit. We'll see what happens.

I have 0 scratches/dings/stone chips...7000+kms and counting. I've been lucky so far. My friend has a an accord has them all over the place. Moms oin vans seems to like parking against his car.

He *****es about it all the time and them makes fun of me because I park my car way from everyone else in a parking lot. Hey I am willing to walk a little farther to avoid the idiots that don't respect other peoples property.

FINALLY got my Rear Clears in..

Well here is how it went...
I was so frustrated w/ not getting them off.. I began to look
everywhere in the garage searching for the rite tool or thing
to make it easier to remove. Well you will never guess what I found to make it possible... I used a really thin dog leash
stuck it behind the lens and pulled as hard as I could.. I had a lot
strength in me this time seeing that I had no luck w/ my previous
experiences taking it off. It popped once then I tugged again and
rite before your eyes there it is the red lens dangling on your car.
I was so happy.. I wish I would have never used a screw driver on my
car I feel so terrible about my paint chip because of me. For anyone
who is going to put your clear rear lens in I reccomend not using
a SCREWDRIVER.. Please don't make the same mistake I did.. It's not
worth it.. Get a dog leash like I did.. It was so easy..
and I want to thank all you guys for your input on taking them off..
And especially a Maxima Member on here named " Versace". Thanks once again!
