I just bought a 2004 maxima with 170000. Auto trams. Very excited to join the Nissan club. This is my first. I have noticed that when I put into drive cold it won't go into gear. I can shift it down to first and it will shift into gear not very softly. Once it warms up it drive great and has no problems at all. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear of your transmission problems. I too had the same thing happen on mine soon after I bought it. After fighting for a few months with the dealer I bought it from I had them change out the valve body and lfie has been good since.

As Chrome said, check the other posts.... tons of guys are having this issue.
