Disconnected Odometer

A friend of mine found a 95 Max with super low km's. I looked at the brake pedal and theres no way he's driven the km's stated. Is there a way to check if the odometer was ever disconnected. Is this possible.

Yes, you could disconnect it.

If he did it right then there wouldn't really be any way to tell from looking. I believe that the ECU stores this information as well...you may be able to have it read at a dealer with a consult.

I think when the ECU is reset the miles might also reset (on the ECU that is), but I am not sure. He could have also had a swap so it might not read correctly there either.

To reset the ECU of the miles it has to be started something like 40 times for it to go away. So maybe depending on his driving took less than a week. Then you really would not know.

What did you tell from looking at his brake?

The pedal was almost completely worn out yet he says he had
only 70K on it

I hear ya on that. I have 88,000 miles and wear boots most of the time and my pedal still looks good.
