How much would a 3rd gen be worth?

I came across this ad the other day and it got me thinking. What is a clean low mileage 3rd gen worth? Will these cars ever be collectible? Although the car in the ad is an automatic, surely a 92-94 VE-5 can be considered rare, but does anyone know how many were produced?

Ewwwwwwww, a GXE grille

I have seen that car before on CL a couple of years ago. I want to say in that same NC area

Looks very clean. That's an immaculate version of my blue turbo car. If it were in DFW I would actually be very tempted to make an offer, buy it, and swap my turbo stuff to it. But I certainly wouldn't pay $4500. I would probably pay $3k and I bet some would think I'm nuts for that. But then again I love VE's. And that color especially.

The 3rd gen community is DEAD unfortunately. Look at all the stuff in the 3rd gen parts sections that go unsold.

I didn't notice the chrome grill James, lol. I've been thinking about getting a VE-5 and maybe swapping over my suspension and brake upgrades to it and bringing my gxe back to stock. I certainly have no plans on selling my car but don't ask my wife about that... she's been after me for years to send that old car to the crusher!

I got offered $400 and $1200 for mine awhile back lol. To the right guy super clean 3rd gen I can see $3500-4 to the right guy. I wouldn't sell mine for 10k.

2 out of my 3 maxima's i picked up cheap. only because both had issues and sellers needed gone or would go to the salvage yard. my 92 ve 5 speed i got for 400 plus 40 dollars for the seller to deliver to me. and the 92 automatic i paid 250 needed front and rear brake pads and 3 out of the 4 calipers replaced. and 1 rotor replaced. nice thing about the old 3rd gens tag here where i live is like 21 dollars to renew per car. I have 3 ve's so i a looking at 63 dollars for all three tags to be renewed which are also all expired at the same time. April lol

Couldn't give any specific examples off the top of my head. Just gauging by general slow moving threads/zero reply threads/incessantly bumped threads due to no buyers/etc.

sad...just real sad. no one wants these cars any more.
it's more of a hobby now if you want to keep these cars...it's not something that you'll EVER see a return on your investment.

This is so true. I probably could have a nice used G35 or even a 350Z with what I've invested in mine. Definitely a car you need to appreciate to keep. While others may not appreciate it or understand investing in it its just something where you yourself have to appreciate it the most. IMO they were ahead of their time when they first came out and are still a great car today and smooth on the highway.

I remember my green 93 GXE had the original sticker in it and I think it was $25,000 or more new! Will these cars ever be worth that again?? Wishful thinking...

this is true. Mine is worth more to me in driving and using it rather than its value in terms of what it would sell for; probably true for most of you as well

Our cars must have been on the minds of the powers that be at Nissan to reinstate the 4DSC logo on the new 8th gen (and on the 7th). This has to be just a marketing reason since I dont see how theyre calling it a "4 door sports car" when a manual transmission does not exist

Oh come on, who wouldn't want a VQ mated to a (notoriously unreliable) Nissan CVT ?????????????????????????????????????????
