How often do you have to clean CAI?

I was wondering how often the CAI needed to be cleaned? I am wanting to purchase one and have read tons of posts about the CAI. I currently have a POP and running a 65 shot of NOS, but want to maximize my intake power. Does the intake get dirty really quickly or is there some way to keep it clean? What are people doing about this? Thanks everyone!

If it comes with k&n paper, every 50,000-100,000 miles.

I know the K&N filter can last that long, but doesn't it get more dirty being down in the wheel well area? I noticed it is filthy in there and didn't want to be cleaning it every other weekend.

Yea, they last pretty long, but to maximize power, you should change it once a year or so i would say.

Just don't forget to clean it. I left mine for 2 years (27K) and killed some of the paper elements. Also caused the engine to run rich and hurt other parts.
