12-14 Depo Tail lights
12-14 Depo Tail lights
Hey guys,
For a while I've been pondering changing my tail lights to the tinted 12-14 style tail lights. However I've been sort of a cheap bastard about getting them because I've typically found the set of OEM ones for at least $300. I came across Depo replacement tail lights for about $90 a piece, thought they appear to have previously been $200ish a piece. What are you thoughts around these lights? I've heard Depo tends to make the majority of the OEM replacement lights and are of decent quality.
What is everyone thoughts on this?
Thanks,
S

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a set. Oddly enough I got them off Amazon. I'll do a comparison and report back.

So got the lights in today and I got them installed. The fitment is great, and the light output is great. I can say these are a reasonable alternative the factory units.
Here are some pictures:

Reverse lights on (love VLED's!)

i hear ya, would've been nice incentive with the leds, or condensation....I wish u luck anyways with these as I'm considering these myself, id like to hear what you think a month or so from now
I Just ordered a set, in the sellers "detailed information" it says all their products carry a 1yr factory warranty.

I will post up pics as well as give an extremely (not trying to steal your thread OP) detailed comparison to the regular '11 SV lights

I had a set of Depo tails on a TL for about 3 years and never had any issues. Couldn't tell any difference in the quality vs OEM, the looks held up great, and never had any kind of leaks. I would definitely buy their stuff again especially if the price is that cheap. You don't have to worry about them being the cheap POS $50 civic taillights off Ebay.
...it wouldn't surprise me if the same people making OEM lights make lights for Depo as well, almost like generic drugs.

The stock Maxima taillights are prone to condensation in the inside, yes I said stock taillights. The tint on the new 2012+ taillights with the clear lens makes the condensation even more noticeable. Wonder if the DEPO taillights experience those issues? Also, the stock Maxima taillights have a "DOT" and "Stanley" stamping on the bottom of the light where the side markers are. Seems like the DEPO ones don't have that, but minor detail. I have a 2014, so I have the new taillights, and can't believe how much more modern the car looks with it.

I am very curios as to what they look like up close, could you please take a couple of closeups in different angles? Lights on and off?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you very much!
these look just like the OEM ones, the also have the lights at the bottom horizontal reflectors? I do not see anything different...
can't wait till they get to me. Where were they shipped from? I am CA

I'm looking to do pretty much the same thing. My 2012 was rear-ended with the previous owner, so I'm guessing on the repair they grabbed whatever the cheapest OEM set they could find was, or whatever was at the junkyard. So mine has the 2009-11 red lights.
I found a set for $145 on eBay, it seems to be the same set on carparts.com for about the same price. OP I see you don't have the car anymore, but did you remember experiencing any problems later? Condensation or electrical? If they might get condensation, I'll probably run some butyl over the seal. I plan on selling the bright red ones once I get them, so just want to know what to expect from the aftermarket lights.
