was driving 30 mph when it died. starts for 5 secs then dies again. did search and found bad maf senser problem on older nissans but couldn't find anything on the 06. how can I check the maf senser?

 

you can try starting it without the MAF plugged in, try cleaning it, or borrow someones MAF that is known to be good

Is the SES light on?

 

Don't know, wife was driving it. I'm going to check it this morning. Does it have to be runing for the SES light to be on, or will the SES light be on with just the key turned on?

It was the MAF senser. A chunk of the air filter was stuck on the MAF senser The air filter was a nissan brand installed by nissan dealer 10K miles ago and the whole corner came out of it. DON'T BUY A NISSAN AIR FILTER..
