power steering return hose substitute?

Hi Guys...power steer return hose out of production...guys at the shop say they take the old hoses and try to match them up with existing hoses in stock (from other models cars)...are able to make it work most often???

The pressure hose still in stock...it is the return hose on a 94 gxe that is out of stock.

I got an aftermarket power steering hose for my max a few years ago; I'm pretty sure it was the pressure hose. It wasn't as good as the Oem hose, fwiw. Steering wheel would not be able to turn as fast with the power steering pump "keeping up" (and keeping turning effort at the steering wheel low). But if the Oem hose is no longer available, I would guess there are probably still aftermarket hose options available at least. An aftermarket power steering hose is a better alternative IMO than an Oem hose that leaks power steering fluid.

The hose isn't all that special, you just need to find one of the right type and diameter. Rockauto sells a length of the proper diameter that you cut to fit depending on where it goes. Most of the hoses have an internal diameter of 0.375", except for the return hose to the reservoir which is 0.625" internal diameter. You could use Rockauto, ebay, local auto store etc just make sure its compatible with power steering fluid or ATF.
