New To Me Car

Hi everyone, I purchased a Nissan Maxima SV and I LOVE this car!!! I didn't think I'd be able to get one but thank GOD he said yes.

I've been driving it almost daily to see how it handles on and off the highway. This car has a lot going for it which will take some time to adjust too but I'm up for the challenge :-)

For those owners who have had one for quite some time, what would you consider to be pros and cons? I've always wanted a Maxima and for a very long time I wanted the 2008 SE model. I admit the 7th gen body design took some time to like, but once I got behind the wheel I was sold.

I've thought about some modifications I want to do and so far all I want is a rear window spoiler and black detailing on the headlights.

Congrats! what year and color? I would definitely gets tints as that is always the first mod on my vehicles but maybe thats just me lol. Ive considered the window spoiler for the future. Pros would be its still one of the best looking cars on the road, the way it handles stock for a car its size, not bad acceleration for the CVT although it does some time to get used to (coming from a manual). Cons its not offered in manual , my wifes jeep GC gets better gas mileage both city and highway, the tires mine came with are by far the worst tires they could have possibly picked. Everyone has their own gripes but I love our car and hope you do as well!

Thanks!! I got a white 2012 model with tan interior. The tint is coming very soon. Hopefully next week. When I bought it I could see there was some light tinting already done, but it's not quite dark enough for me. I don't want limo but 17% or 20% whichever they have.

I'm coming from a Pontiac Grand AM so this is a major upgrade for me and a long over due major purchase. The whole CVT thing is understandably new to me so I'll make sure to check the threads before asking certain questions. I know this car has a manual mode but I don't plan on using it. This car is a beauty and in the short time I've had it, I've seen other cars I've wanted in the past and I'm glad I waited. This one is so much better!!!!

Definitely a well deserved upgrade! Yeah theres questions for days regarding the CVT but its pretty unique I just wish I got better MPGS but after all throwing it in manual mode with the K&N intake makes it worth it That will look great with tints and since your interior is tan you can definitely get away around that lower range seeing as it wont really appear that dark. Congrats again and welcome to the family!

Welcome aboard! That's a nice color combination, my 5th gen was white with a tan interior. Look into an RSB from either Stillen or Racingline....by far the best bang for the buck mod.

Thanks I'll post pics soon. A coworker of mine just traded his in but gave me his all weather floor mats that have the Maxima brand on them and two Nissan seatbelt sleeves.

I know the feeling. This is my first Nissan and Maxima. I've been thinking about some mods I want to use. So far I've decided on detailing my headlights, and tinting the windows.

I've been thinking about adding some Stillen Body Kit parts, a roof spoiler, and some subs. I decided against tinting the headlights and tail lights, and I don't plan on adding wind deflectors...for now at least. What have you thought about doing?

hello everyone, I am new to this site and a new Maxima owner. I purchased a 2011 and it is now time to rotate the tires. I am not sure where it is safe to jack the car up with a floor jack and points to set the jack stands. can anyone please help?

thanks,

thanks,
I rotated all four of my (2014 SV) tires using just the jack in the standard jack points. It's a little tedious doing them one at a time(using the spare as a temp holder for the first tire), but it works.
