p1320 code, 97 maxima manual

Just replaced the safety neutral switch and the crankshaft position sensor that sits in front of the oil filter on the passenger side. Cleared the p1335 code to see whether the sensor was my issue, or the wiring undwr the filter that leads to the sensor. After 40 miles of driving, CEL is back on with the p1320 code. I looked it up and one of the possible causes is crankshaft position sensor circuit, among the many ignition related causes. Any ideas on this?

Pull your COPs and test each one for resistance.

P1320 is typically related to ignition/coil problems.

Ok. I'm just trying to figure out why the code was never there prior to installing the new crankshaft position sensor. I have no issues starting the car, no skips, hesitation or anything. She turns right over.

I was having misfires at idle and intermittently at speed. No CEL or codes at all. Replaced all 6 coils with a cheap set from Ebay. Engine runs perfectly, however, now I get the P1320 and a CEL. I'm told that the ECM is very picky about the coils--if they are out of spec you will get the P1320.

How does your car drive? Any shaking or hesitation?

1st gear is a little shaky, mostly at go, but otherwise she shifts smooth and runs fine. No different than before putting the switch and cps on. That's why it baffles me as to why this code came up. The only other codes are evap (which comes and goes) and the o2 sensor I haven't had a chance to put in yet.

Also, when the neutral safety switch was changed out, obviously transmission fluid came out with it. I don't have a clue as to when or if the fluid was ever changed. I got the car at 82k and now it's at 113k. The fluid is a normal used gear oil color (she takes 80w-90), a medium brown. It doesn't smell like anything but used gear oil. Should I drain it and put new fluid in?
