Warpspeed Y-Pipe noise at idle question

Hello,

I just installed my Warpspeed Y-Pipe on my car last night and I noticed a noise while I was driving after the installation. The noise sounds like a low growl that is intermittent (not a constant noise, random). The growl only occurs at idle or just right out of idle when in Drive and Reverse. I noticed it doesn't make the growling noise when in park. Also the growl seems to be coming from directly under my center console, at first I thought stuff was rattling in my console, but it wasn't.

Is this normal or has anyone else experienced anything similar? If it's not supposed to do that, what are some suggestions on things to check to make sure nothing is wrong.

I know that that sound will change with the new y-pipe, I just found it odd and concerning that the low growling noise only occurs at idle (Drive, Reverse) and is not a constant noise.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks guys!

Warpspeed Y-Pipe noise at idle question

I have a Warpspeed on my car and never noticed any odd noises after installation.

If it's below the center console, is everything bolted up properly with the new y-pipe?

I had a deteriorated exhaust gasket on mine due to age.

The Warpspeed came with a new gasket and 2 crush rings. It doesn't sound like a rattling where antyhing would be loose, but I'll re-tighten everything tomorrow. What's the best way to try and pin-point the sound. Is it a bad idea to put it up on 4 jack stands and turn it on to see where the sound is coming from?

Put it on jack stands and start it up. Do not put the transmission in drive while it's on jack stands.

After I converted my car from auto to manual, I have a slight rattle where the catalytic converter is at. I haven't had a chance to look at the problem in-depth.

I had a problem getting the gasket with the catalytic converter lined up correctly and had a small leak.

You can start the engine and feel around the connection for a minute or so before the pipe gets too hot.

I figured out what it was, I went and torqued the Y-pipe to specs and then I just wiggled it around. I notices that the B-pipe was resting on a support bar and when I vibrates it makes the noise from bouncing up and down on the bar. I tested it with some padding and it fixed it. But now I need to get some fire-proof padding so it doesn't catch on fire from the heat of touching the exhaust.

Drill holes in the support bar for a U clamp and clamp the exhaust to it?
Just a thought.
