Will a trunk lid fit in the trunk?

So this is a little bit of an odd question...

I think I have found a trunklid without spoiler holes to replace my current one. It is about 100mi from my house though, and I would rather go get it in the Max rather than my truck (12mpg).

Does anyone know if its possible to angle a trunk lid in somehow so it fits INSIDE the trunk, and then ideally close the existing lid on it?

Here's an idea...

Loosely bolt your current lid in place.

When get to the salvage yard, quickly remove your old lid and quickly replace it with new(er) one that's also loosely bolted in place.

With permission, leave your old one at the junk yard.

Tighten things up when you're back home.

The trunk lid from an A32 without a spoiler will easily fit into your back seat. I picked one up 2 weeks ago doing that. The lid will not fit into our tiny trunks.

Why are you repeating my previous post? In short threads with very few posts members have to learn to read not just the thread titles but the previous posts.
