Turbo Diesel cleaner in VQ??

My buddy who has had a 350z has told me that he used a blue liquid that they use to clean turbo diesel engines in exchange of motor oil for like 5-10 mins and then drains and replaced the fluid with motor oil, the fluid turned black and his vq ran alot better, any info/truth to this? He claims it cleans the valves. Thanks guys

The only compounds that appear similar to what you're talking about are diesel exhaust fluid and stiction eliminators.

Neither is used to "replace" motor oil by any stretch of the imagination for any period of time.

Exhaust fluid is consumed with diesel fuel and is used to control/decrease emissions.

Stiction eliminators are added to diesel oil and are to clean the diesel injection system.

If you want the guts of your motor cleaned, switch to a high quality, high detergent property motor oil ... Pennzoil Platinum or Shell Rotella T6, for example ... or continue to use your favorite motor oil but add the appropriate proportion of Marvel Mystery Oil, which has been shown over the decades to be an effective internal engine component cleanser.

There is no way in hell I'd ever replace my motor oil with something that's not motor oil.

Thought you just added Seafoam to your oil before a change run it while you seafoam everything else then change oil, and viola, clean internals???

Worked on my 3.0, when I tore than thing down a year later the internals looked amazing.

Engine cleaners - marketing marketing marketing.
Just keep up with the oil changes and put nothing else in your crankcase. The first time I opened up the valve covers at just over 210,000, the inside of my motor looked like new.
Castrol GTX all it's life, changed regularly. It's pretty simple, really.

This. I hope your buddy isn't using DEF, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was. Modern oil blends can hold a lot of crap in them compared to the old dinosaur oils.

Use a quart of automatic transmission fluid instead. Run for an hour and then change the oil.

This is one of those things where if you have a lot of sludge and you dislodge it, it'll clog an oil journal. I had an old subi where the dipstick went dry. Added four quarts and the dip stick started showing 8 qts. Still worked fine lol and I think my buddy drove it like that for a while till he totaled it. If you put 0w-40 m1 from Walmart it'll clean it gently and a pureone filter will continue the savings per performance factor.
