Alternator Connector Fried
Alternator Connector Fried
Earlier this week I drove my car and smelled something then it went away. Minutes later my Brake and Battery light came on. Come to find out my alternator was no longer working and that my car was running off the battery. I bought a new alternator thinking that was the problem. I took out my alternator and discovered the connector that plugs into the alternator was fried which I'm assuming is why it went out. I still needed one because the inside where the connector goes into is damaged. What's the name of the part I need to replace the connector? I searched online but couldn't find one.
The connectors for the alternator and the a/c compressor are a short, approximately 10 inches long wire harness that you can buy at the dealer, part # 24076-40U00. My alternator burned up this spring and I think I paid approx $35 for it.
Or pull one off of a car in the junkyard. The same harness is used on 1995 through 2000 Maximas and 1996 through 20001 Infiniti i30.
