Recommended brake pads

If anyone is wondering what pads to go with when you need replacements, I'd recommend:

I used them on my E55 and loved them. I just did both axles and am happy. Additionally, I flushed the old brake fluid out and bled in new fluid. Good to go!

I second Akebono. Thats what I have on mine right now and use for all brake jobs. Funny enough, I also bought them from True Blue parts on ebay.

I'm going to order these as my front pads are at 15% left. Anything special you need to do when replacing the front pads or are they pretty straight forward? I've read that the rear pads might be a pain to replace. If so, I may take it to my mechanic when needed and let them do the rear.

There is absolutely nothing special about Front brakes on Maxima. Single piston calipers, regular slide pins.
The only thing that makes rears a bit of pain is that the sliding pins are integrated with hold down bolt, a crappy design in my book.

My factory pads did not squeak and neither do these.

only recently did I get starting a bit of a groan noise first thing in the morning. Could be hard spot on the pad or something to that effect. Only get the noise for one application in the morning and then its noise free.
I was surprised to get the noise, but still recommend the pads. Noise could also be a combination of pads and rotors.

Dampness will put a slight coat of rust on your rotors in no time. This will cause some noises for sure.

Just ordered these for my 2010 SV. I will report back to provide an update on how they work out. Great reviews on them and thanks for providing this info!

Can't say. They've only been on for about 3 days. I think since they're carbon metallic they shouldn't produce much dust if any at all. Correct me if I'm wrong.

250+ miles in on the Akebono F&R pads with resurfaced OEM rotors. All brake shuddering/vibration at all speeds is completely gone. Braking improved and no sound when braking or driving. Very happy with these pads!

Also had a great mobile mechanic as an installer. He did a great job for $220

Did you get the 905s on the rear?
