Tips on lowering,,,,,

I've got a 97 Maxima stick which is in dire need of struts. I'm considering dropping her for cosmetic reasons. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated. I'm not totally against keeping her OEM either. Just don't want a bouncy ride.

Thanks in advance,
Zephead

That really depends on how much you want to spend. There are options from $100 all the way to $1500. How many miles are on the struts? Are they blown? I went with coilovers because I wanted adjustability and quality. If you look for "lowering springs" in the search bar you can find tons of threads dealing with your situation.

My struts were shot when I got my max. I swapped in some Tein H techs and KYB struts. The ride felt the same, no stiffer, just lower.

I used to have a Corolla, I dropped it on the same combo, on the Corolla forum it was the gold standard for spring/strut drops. Doesn't seem to be the case with the maxima's. Search around, there are other brands that are more popular

KYB Excel G's struts & H&R springs are a good combo. Will run you about $500 all the way around. I picked up an ebay Stagg Stuts & Vogtland springs combo for $350 shipped. Very nice drop. About 1.5" and only ran me $150 for installation. Keep a look out on the stickies. Right after I got the Stagg & Vogtland combo installed, I found a set of D2 coilovers for $400 on the stickies if only I waited a day lol
