I don't think there is one for the 95-96... you just have to paint them with the right red/transparent lens paint...where ever you get that.

Its some kind of 'Cherry red' model paint that you can get from a hobby shop.

Well, at the very top, it has a disclaimer that says this isnt for the 95's. But is the idea as far as opening the case the same? Anyone know the specfic brand of paint I should buy that works best?

don't do it.. its much easier to pay someone who has done it for years to do it.. or swap your trunk to a 97 - 99 ..

Pick up some "transparent candy apple red" model paint from Wal-mart or any hobby shop. If you wanted to spend the extra $ for real lens paint you can get some from www.autodynamic.com I think they sell the VANS brand. Make sure you get some clear coat for added protection and spray away. If you plan on painting the inside you can follow the directions on how to open the lenses off of www.maximdriver.com or ask Sprintmax.

Maybe someone who wants to paint them red/clear. Not all of us have 97+ maximas.

And secondly the Type II is probably the best looking spoiler for the max on the market right now. It wouldn't be in such high demand if it wasn't.

What do you mean by that? I have a 97 max and I want to clear out the orange.

Then you don't need to buy clear lenses. All you need to do is this
http://www.seas.ucla.edu/~cheston/rearlights.htm

95/96 Maximas have different tailights. We cannot remove the orange lens from ours.

So Ravq, your saying that I'll be fine just carefully spraying the outside of my clear tails, that I ordered from nopi, if i use the right type of paint and clearcoat? Or am I going to have to open them up? Thanks, Steve

You'll be fine spraying the outside. That's what I did. But be forewarned that it will fade with time regardless of how much paint and clearcoat you put on it. I had mine on for over 2 years and it's fading just a tad. Nothing a touch up can't fix. Now you can choose to open them up and decrease the chances of them fading greatly but you'll also end up with a white line around the perimeter of the brake part where the spray paint did not reach. There are a couple of members here who painted the insides. You can talk to NY96MAX? (I think that's his name - sorry Ant) for his opinion. Really either way is fine but it all boils down to how you want them.

Ok i got a 97 max and im doing the clear out thing the way cheston has it on his site. My only problem is that there is one wire connected to the lights, the one that runs from the bottom red light(next to the yellow) to the housing. Its like broken or something cuz it wont come off. Anyone know if i just break that piece off or wat 2 do?

UPDATE***
I finally got the glass seperated from the housing. What I had to do was put it in the oven for about 10 minutes preheated to 210 degrees. After that it just slides right off. Now my main problem is cutting/sawing/chizzling/melting the lighting cover to fit the lens. Ive tried everything but it keeps coming out uneven or broken or too short so that when I stick it in, it doesnt wrap around and stay in place (: HELP ME!!!!

I got a "sawdering iron" to melt it which made it easier but its still kinda hard. Anyone living in the brooklyn nyc area who's available to help me I would surely appreciate it. Tomorrow morning I will get up and keep trying. I bought a 2 by 4 feet piece of sheet so I still got more to practice on.
/Rant off

"190hpKilla" he did his, came out okay.
I tried mine and i used an Oven to open them up.. but i ****ed up by melting the lens too much, it was actually soft and when pulling it apart i shifted it just a little bit and it's a little crooked.. but cutting out that light cover is a b!tch.. I used everything i can think of, then found the dremmel tool to work best for me.. i got it then i finally fit it in and when i resealed the tail it ****ing cracked inside.. so I had to take it all apart again and it was late so i just put the orange back inside for the time being.. never got around to doing it again.... but i plan on it, i need a second tail light to replace that one.

Has anyone used a "scoring" tool to cut the fluorescent light covers? Like the kind used to cut tile or glass. I think that might work well.

Hey, Ravq, i'm in the process of painting my tails right now, and since I've painted the outside of the tails, it seems a bit foggy, dull, and not clear. Did you have this problem?

No I did not. What kind of paint are you using? And how thick are you spraying your layers? I'm sure once you've finished and slapped on the clear coat it will look glossy.
