Stock SE wheel and tire weights for 4th and 5th gen

ok..so MAX2000JP and I both weighed our wheels and tires when we rotated them. the weights are as follows.

4th gen 16inch SE 5-spoke wheels with Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires:

43 lbs

5th gen 17 inch SE 6-spoke wheels with stock RE92 tires

46.5lbs

whomever said that the 5th gens 17s weighed in at 55lbs...is NUTS...

just some useful info

Damn those wheels are pretty heavy. My ranger 14's with 225/70-14s are 37lb while the mustang GT 17's are 45lb with no name 245/45-17s.

I'm curious as to why the 2k2 SE wheels that have the same basic design and same tires as the 2k-2k1 are 8 lbs. heavier...it just doesn't make sense.

i just weigh my 17" konig tantrums with 235/45/17 dunlop sp9000s. they weigh in at 48.5lbs. i think that's heavy. i also weigh the sp9000 by itself. the sp9000 weigh in at 24.5lbs each. that means the tantrums weigh about 24lbs. i haven't weigh my stock 15" SE rims with stock goodyear rsa tires yet. i know they are much lighter compared to the tantrums w/sp9000s. maybe around 42lbs. i'm definitely not going to drag with the tantrums and dunlops that's for sure now that i know how heavy they are.

Don't forget the air inside your tires is compressed and has some weight associated with it too.. probably no more than 1-2 lbs though.

I used a bathroom scale, it seems pretty accurate. I weighed my self and then I held the wheel in my hand and subtracted the weights.
