problem with right front turn signal and corner marker

Guys, noticed the small 194 marker was out, and then a week later the right front turn signal stopped working. The 194 bulb was burnt, but the 1156 is perfectly fine. A search basically leads to checking the wiring. could it be a ground issue?

Also, the intermittent wipers mysteriously stopped working. I think it's time to retire the car, and imho rust/corrosion is its downfall. But heck it's been on the road driven daily over 18 years. Any quick fixes? Thanks.

It certainly could be a ground issue.

So get some contact cleaner and fine sandpaper. Clean your contacts.
Also trace the wire to the grounding point. Clean that up as well.

Besides what JvG said, look on the back of the light bulb socket. Wires have been known to corrode and break off.

Thanks fellas, I'll do some more poking around. But I got so frustrated that I bought the Maxima's replacement. Don't get me wrong this car had a good 18 1/2 yr. life....

Time to get behind some Japanese steel that's gonna last forever....'06 LS430. I don't think this car will have the rust/corrosion issues, it spent most of it's life in FLA. Still have one car in the household with a stick, so the auto is ok.....

Turns out the Lexus had a burned out 3rd brake light, plus it's not LED, so I got rid of that too and ordered a new NSX.

J/k, my car has a EGR issue again, the water thing in the EVAP broke, the brakes are acting up after 3 new calipers, 1 hose, 4 rotors, there seems to be an oil leak maybe rear main (vcg are 2 y.o.), throttle position sensor needs replacement with stripped screw, looks like the left front is droning (bearing), reverse switch needs replacement, rear license marker rusted away, and tons of rust perforation (this I will never understand, maybe something happened to my car before I bought it new)...it's time....
