Timing chain problems

Timing chain problems
I'm in the middle of replacing the head gasket . I removed the outer chain and guides now the problem I can't seem to get the sprockets off to remove the rest they seem to spin together should I hold one in place and loosen the other . Question is will this mess anything up buy doing so ? Some one please give me a heads up with this please.
