Just got 99 maxima and Nats sys not letting it start

Hi guys, I just bought a 99 maxima and new the car would not start before I got it thought it would be simple fix. Well after a week of messing with it I know the car has spark and fuel pressure but injectors are not injecting so I did my homework and figured out that this car has a security system called NATS and impossible to Crack so I am thinking about purchasing an ecu from a 95 but don't know if the 95s had the nats system also so would it be a waste of my money.

Once you get a 95 ECU, you'll have to do some minor re-wiring at the ECU pin connection. Let me see if I can find the thread that tells how to do it.

Also, you should confirm NATS has gotten you. The security light should be on solid while cranking. Is this the case?

Thank you for the reply wizard! Yes I am sure it's the security because the security light stays illuminated with the key in and on position. I spoke to the guy I got it from and he said he took it to the dealer last year after all the lil mechanic shops around couldn't start it and the dealer told him he needed a new ecu for some reason he doesn't remember why. I have a mac tools obd2 scanner and I tries reading codes and dataset ream but it will not let me access the ecu for some reason all fuses are good. Plus if I put starter fluid it will start but shuts off so I that's when I started doing my homework on this issue and figured I'm imobalized!! Bummer but whit you're guys help I know this maxima is soon going to be on the road. I got a pin out for the ecu on 95 and 96 but can't seem to find a right one for the 99. Would you know where I can look one up?

Click the link in my signature for FSM's for all years. Compare 95 year to 99 year ECU diagrams.

You could call around and explain how NATS got you to Locksmiths. Some locksmiths have the proper Consult tool which will grant them access to the ECU through the Consult Port under your dash and reprogram your keys/ECU. I've read stories of as little as $75. Dealer will ask you to tow it in, and then charge you an arm and a leg to reprogram your key/ECU.

Dealerships got to rip off people to pay their fancy buildings, their car supply and employees. Only reason why they charge an arm and a leg.. never go there.
