I see that you have to have iphone 5 or greater to use the apple car play. I dont really want to switch to an iphone. So my question is, can i use a iphone that is not active and still use apple car play to play music?

I use itunes alot, and a little dissapointed on how my ipod displays album art on tge screen of tge car. The controls arent even that good from tge audio interface.

What kind of ipod? I tried an oldernone and didnt work with carplay. Only worked through regular usb and audio

 

My ipod is a 4th gen.. might be to old.

 

Anyone else try an ipod with apple carplay? Is tge interface better? More graphics? Album art, etc..
