Maximustang has passed on.

Today I traded in the Maxima for a Camaro. At 333,000 miles I was given $700 trade in, and everyone was amazed the condition for such a high mileage car. I can only hope it will go to someone who will appreciate it. I really hope an employee at the dealership will purchase it for their teenage child, as it would be a sweet first ride. I am sure it will probably go to auction and be sold on some fleebag used lot though. New car will be posted in other Rides, but alas, I will no longer visit this site. Be excellent to each other, and party on dudes.

I guess we all have to move on...or do we ?

These cars are fantastic and have great longevity. The newer cars won't last this long, I'm sure.

I cannot give up my 98 I30 even though I just got a new Rav4. It only has 157K on the clock, but runs flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one if I needed one. I have the Rav4 because my mom bought it and had to give up driving because of her age, so she gave it to me. These cars are super reliable. I have driven the I30 the length of California 4-5 times without a concern.

Said to see a long time member go

Personally i love these cars. I'm glad i wrecked my 97 bc i took the time to find a 99 that hasn't been exposed to these northeastern winters and it has hardly any rust. I plan to replace the rad support and rear axle but other than that it has no rust and I'll clean it up and undercoat it. Mechanically i did all the prescheduled maintenance even the injectors, and i feel confident with my knowledge of the car to keep it running and hopefully swap a 3.5 in the next year or 2 with <30k miles and another 5 speed whenever i'll need it.

I wanna drive this car forever and I just need to adjust my driving accordingly

I love it. All the little things that come with a more modern car like DRL, compass, ambient temp, key fob are all just icing on the RWD LSD Cake.

Cheers sir,

Thanks for the fun times and useful posts on here. I went over to the lexus side,, but I still open this site from time to time to see what's doing - I'll always have a soft spot for maxima.org! Always sad to see a longtime member leave though. Good luck with the camaro. Always said if I were to go domestic, it would be a camaro.

You need to drop in and check on us from time to time. I've always enjoyed your posts.

I'm sure you are looking forward to ALL of the cool and reasonably priced aftermarket upgrades that are available for the Camaro.

In thinking about Oregon and Camaros, here a guy in Salem that is all about 1st gens..

Good luck man.

party on wayne, party on garth. hell, i would've bought from you if you lived a little closer. trading it in is such an insult to what we do these cars. book value doesn't apply, or they should at least double it.
