Converting rubber fuel lines to ss braided line?

Converting rubber fuel lines to ss braided lines?

Is this what I need to turn the hard fuel lines into a AN fitting? I guess I would have to flare the hard fuel lines.

This way I can remove all the rubber hoses.

Tony you should really be talking to the muscle car crowd or maybe Mardigrass or someone. The muscle car guys have been replacing their rubber lines w/ SS for decades. It's probably an real easy question for them. Should be at least a few in the local yellow pages.

damn jeff...joo a rookie...
anyway...
tony...from the hard line you need to get a compression fitting/adapter. figure out what size hard tubing and get the correct adapter. from that you can attach the standard AN fitting from your braided line.

gee thanks jeff...

tony..

that's the pipe adapter..the taper side is the AN end..and the straight threaded size you need to screw into a compression fitting.
good luck with it because the plumbing is not cheap at all. at least you're not going to the fake sleeve on the rubber hose direction.

Danny...thanks for the info. The only reason I'm going with braided line is because of my new SARD FPR. I have to mount the regulator a good distance away from the original location. I don't want to risk using regular FI hoses. The possibility of it being kinked or pinched. You don't happen to have a picture of what a compression fitting looks like do you?

Tony,
Why do you need to use an AN style fitting? Is this what your big brake kit takes? I have the Goodridge lines on my car and they have the same female thread size as the stock piece that was already flared onto the end of the stock ridgid line. I just had to screw both ends of the braided line on and that was it.

For the fuel lines. I found a -6AN fuel rail adaptor.

I have all the fittings and lines. I'm just too lazy to do the work right now. Maybe later on this year.

Compression fitting or you could use hose clamps that are design for SS braided lines.
