HVAC heat temperature setting not working properly

It's fairly cold where I am, about -15C, and I'm trying to find a good setting for the HVAC to keep me warm but not too warm. My Maxima is playing silly buggers - if I set the HVAC to 18.5C it's too cold. If I set it to 19.0C it's far too hot. It's almost as though setting it to 19.0C cranks heat out at around 26+C. Has anyone else experienced this? Mine is a '17 SL.

My 17 SL has same symptom. Never had that problem with other cars including my '07 Altima SL. At 19C (our US 66F I think) that keeps my upper torso warm but my feet feel cold. 67-68F then my face gets too warm even when air is only being directed out the bottom! Direct air just out the top and its like a blast furnace. Seems I'm always adjusting the airflow from top-to-bottom to top-and-bottom, etc. to try to get it right. In my car this heat thing and the CVT quirks at low steady-state speed are the only things that bug me. Love the car otherwise. Nature of the beast.

I have found that, in my 2016 platinum, it is not very meaningful to try to get the cabin temp perfect until the engine is fully warm. Then I usually have the heat come in only on the footwells, because my wife's feet tend to get cold. and the warm air entering there will rise to head level reasonably soon. Being ancient and decrepid, hence having no circulation in my hands, my PRIMARY source of comfort is the heated steering wheel, which I always have on from October to April. If my hands are warm, I am fine. I would never consider purchasing any vehicle that does not have a heated steering wheel.

I have not had any real problem maintaining a constant temp in the cabin. I set the temp somewhere in the seventies, depending on what kind of day/weather it is, and seldom need to make further adjustments.
