gasket/washer for 99 maxima automatic transmission

99 max auto trans drain plug gasket
I went to napa, az, advance , federated and oreilleys- no one stocks or even lists the atf drain plug washer/ gasket??
these stores did not have even a listing.
does the tannsmission not have a drain plug gasket?
or do people reuse them
or go to hardware store?
nissan dealer is far off.
what does everyone else do?

Use the same M12 crush washer you use for the oil drain plug.

Harbor Freight sell a small container of different sized copper washers for $5.00. Buy a box and use the appropriate size.... I think you get about 20 per box.

I've never replaced a drain plug gasket after changing the oil or ATF on any car. Is that bad?

Not if you've never experienced any seepage.

what surprised me was not that those places did not stock the "washer" --but they had NO LISTING in their parts books of the part or its size
advance auto uses needa parts, not listed, napa man looked in 3 books, no listings, same at the other places. whats that about? strange I thought.

not strange, old, as in our cars are. we are lucky to have access to so many parts for the vq still. so there's going to be parts that aren't listed or hard to come by from time to time.

I buy the toyota oil filter for my Lexus and it comes with a fiber washer, not a crush washer.

I don't change the washer unless it appears to be leaking and I can't remember the last time did have to change one.

Amazon

Amazon Amazon

I try to keep a 10 pack on hand.

It looks like the Mercury Villager (with the Nissan engine) uses the same crush washers.
