Talking New Falken Pro G4 A/S Tires installed

Factory tires were starting to wear down to the tread wear bars, so after much research I decided to put on some Falken Pro G4 A/S tires. So far, they seem to handle real well, probably better than the factory continentals that came with the car. Attached a few pics, let me know what you guys/gals think.

Would you check in after you get at least 5-10 thousand miles on the tires. Concerned about noise level.

Wife at 6K. No changes in noise at all, wear is indiscernible at this time.

I am surprised to see that these tires don't seem to protect the rims any more than the OEM Continentals. Matter of fact the rims seem to protrude more, if that is possible. What do you think WarAdmiral?

This is the main reason I want to change to a different tire from the OEM. Curb rash.

I take back what I just wrote about these tires not providing rim protection. I enlarged your photos and they do appear to have the rims countersunk inside the rubber... so GOOD. I would be interested in knowing how the tires age with respect to maintaining their cornering ability, expansion strip noise, and rolling noise.

Can you share what the total cost was for the tires. They appear to be a good solution.

So far, the tires handle great! Excellent in rain, even in heavy downpours. I feel a little bit of steer pull when driving through puddled water on the highway, but does not feel like it is losing any traction. A lot less steer pull through puddles than the OEM tires. Dry handling is excellent, they grab well through curves at high speeds, braking distances seem much better, and heavy acceleration from a dead stop feels very comfortable, very little traction loss, I can feel the tires really dig in and grip when punching the accelerator from a complete stop. So far I am very happy with these tires, road noise is equal to or less than OEM, expansion strips on the freeways can be felt a little but the tires seem to absorb quite a bit of impact through uneven pavement. Have not noticed any tire wear yet, but I also have not even put enough mileage on them yet to make it to a scheduled tire rotation, so it would be unfair for me to make a blanket statement on how the tires are wearing or breaking in. The real test for me will be when it gets hot this summer. Looking forward to see how they handle on the hot pavement in 100*F + days here in Texas.

robtroxel, I bought them through discount tire. Total after tax and road hazard, out the door would have been $802. I applied my military discount and I believe it came in right around $756 out the door. Also, another reason I went with these tires was because they have a 65,000 mile manufacturer warranty. Even if I get 55,000 miles out of them, it is almost twice what I got out of the OEM crapinentals. These tires also had a 4.5 out of 5 star rating from 46 reviews.
