Help supercharger V2 belt alignment problem and funny noise with the FMU

I was so happy to finally be done with the supercharger installation so I am all nervous to turn on the car so I do it, so I go run look under the car and assure everything aligns, so I noticed that the belt was on top of the alternator pulley. So if you look down at it from the top of the car it scoots over a bit to the left if you look under the car it is to the right. As if I need to scoot the alternator over but that is impossible. The idler pulley is the smooth one correct?

Then there is a Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww type noise coming somewhere from the FMU section, is that FMU suppose to be that loud or is it hooked on wrong. I didnt hook up the boost gauge and also I dont have the rubber gasket that hook up to the MAF? So I quickly shut it off and then said darn it took me 2.5 days to hook this up and I am beat and my hands are all cut up can someone please help

a couple of things

1) a bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeee buzzing noise might be frome your aux fuel pump. mine is on all the time and the inline pump is causing the buzzing noise as it vibrates within its rubber clamps.

2) your belt shifting, you might not have your belt looped correctly in the right path, or you didn't adjust your belt tight enough. when the car is on, the belts shouldn't be shifting at all.. AND BECAREFUL of the idle adjust pulley (the one with rail) melting off with high boost runs.

3) if you hear a METAL on METAL grinding noise from the belts, thats the tell-tale sign of the plastic pulley rubbing against the metal washer, and the washer being scraped against the pulley holder of the engine. and then subsequently, thats the last you'll hear of it after it falls off and you're stuck somewhere in the freakin highway, 120 miles from home. #%#@% stillen. watch out. this happened to me and a few other people. you can make it home on about 1.5 hours of battery life powering the spark plugs n such. but if this happenes to you, DO NOT STOP THE CAR. turn off ALL eletrically powered items. i.e. interior lights. dash lights. everything to save battery power. until you can limp home.

4) if you're sure the belt is on tight (you should be able to make a 90 degree turn of the belt, but no more ) and you're sure that buzzing noise isnt the inline aux fuel pump, then you've done something wrong with the fuel lines or something. better check it out b4 driving long distances. hope that helps

As Cheston says, the buzzin noise is normal. If you touch the fuel line from the pump, you'll actually feel it vibrate.

The belt might not be lined up correctly, but start your car and run it for about 5-10 minutes. Look from the top and the bottom to see if the belt is jumping or moving horizontally. If you can, have someone rev the car and pay attention to the belt movement (from top and bottom).

Congrats on the install!

Thank you but Kevin I am stressed out and worried about the belt alignment as the FMU noise I can careless it is normal, Mike will come over and reassure me. AS for the belt if I dont fix that then I cant even run the car. That was the hardest thing I have ever done, and to be frankly hones dropping the motor and installing the return line on the motor would take like 5 mins but while on the car like 1.5 plus hours fighting to get that 10mm bolt on.

As long as all the belt ribs are on the pulley ribs, you should be fine. There's no way of moving the alternator pulley to the left.

Scraps, cuts, and yelling... the joys of installing a supercharger.

i'm pretty sure that's why you're getting the noise from the belts.
if the alignment is not straight it's going to squeel.
idler pulley is no rails.
tensioner pulley is w/ rails.

safe to assume the pullies are ok? got my PM?

I was missing two bolts on the top right corner of the plate when the belt sinched down it was dropping the belt away from the car. I bought those two bolts and that solved my problem had not had a problem since!!!
