Sport Compact Car Shootout - San Antonio, FEB 8th ! !
Friday (2/08/02) is going to the be the first Sport Compact Car Shootout of the new season!
Last year was a big success thanks to Ric from Race Redi Motorsports and Todd from RCR. This year looks to be even better.
There are going to be a few changes to the set up of the race:
1. There is going to be a Quick 16 now instead of a Quick 8 (provided that there are enough cars to support the class).
2. This season points will awarded for each race and an eventual Season Winners will be crowned! So it counts that you show up for every race to get points! (points will be awarded for many places, not just the top place finishers)
Things that haven't changed:
1. 4 cyl, 6 cyl and rotary allowed as well as turbo/supercharger/NOS
2. No slicks allowed.
3. No V8's or motorcycles.
3. There will be a bracket class and a heads up class (Quick 16).
4. Both the bracket class and Quick 16 will have trophy's for finalists and semi-finalists (the trophies are really nice!)
Location: River City Raceway www.rivercityracewayinc.com in Marion, Texas (20 minutes outside of San Antonio heading East on I-10).
Date: The 1st race of the new 2002 season will be Friday, 2/8/02.
Time: Gates open at 6pm. Qualifying for the event will be around 8:30pm.
Cost: $15, the same price to run test n tune. When you tech in, let the tech know that you are going to run in the event and he will put you on the list
Not sure if anyone wants to go, but maybe we can get a few together for some running. Anyone?
