I'm looking to get some 20" Infiniti red sport rims. But I'm not 100 percent sure they will fit my 16 platinum came with the 18" rims which are 18x8.5 and the offset is 50. The Infiniti rims are 20x9 with a 40 offset. Any input would be appreciated. Also I'm looking at running 255 or 245 by 35 tires thanks

 

Pretty sure Red-sport have staggered rims...so you have 2 different sizes to consider here...

 

Like the staggered 20" from the Q60 (coupe) ?
Based on my experience with the 19" rims from the Q50 sedan, you would be out of your mind to put these on a Maxima.
And staggered wouldn't fit.

 

 

They are 9" all the way around. Rims no tires.

Only the Rwd has staggered rim sizes, if you can get them from an AWD RS400 they are all the same size on all 4 corners!

 

that's what the seller told me they are off a awd from NYC. Car went from the dealer to the rim shop.

 

Weight, drag on transmission, car not designed for it, and my personal experience with the 19" red rims (standard on Plat Reserve) that feel like a complete mis-fit.

 

That is not true, first weight is very close from 20" to 19", my OEM SR wheel were 25 pounds, my 20s are 24 pounds. Car not designed for it is nonsense, do not spread misinformation. If you get a decent tire for the 20s, it'll run smooth enough for daily driving.

 

You totally forget about the offset which if out of kilter will cause premature wheel bearing failure and poor handling. A 20 inch wheel on these cars usually means a rubber band side walls aspect ratio (35 or 30). Might as well buy extra wheels and tires to replace what you will destroy in the roads we have in the midwest.

 

 

With the Maxima, I don't think there will be any semblance of "comfort" moving to 35 sidewall.

After owning a number of BMW with 19" alloy wheel rims, I'm surprised at what a (jarring) difference 45R18 > 40R19 made...

Heck, this is even worse than my GT-R with 20" wheels (rims).
