HELP! So Many Questions: Need Work on My Maxima
HELP! So Many Questions: Need Work on My Maxima
So I purchased my Maxima SV back in 2009/2010 and I've been the original owner. I was not that interested in maintenance and upgrading my car until now.
1. Transmission fluid replacement. If a dealer says they can do it for $200, do I just get it done there or should I learn and start doing it on my own. I have 100k miles on it and have never done a trans fluid replacement. (SIGH).
2. I want more power. Go get an intake?
3. Suspension. Just get an Eibach? Or do I get some 20" tires (rims too) before putting in new coils?
4. Other suggestions
One issue: When I hit reverse, the mirrors go down but do not return to the default position when I hit drive. Is there a way to reset the side view mirrors?

2. CAI is useless
3. Matter of taste, car is getting older IMO don't mess with it.
4. Not sure
PS: in order to help you promptly, please refrain from multiposting in multiple topics.
You need these parts:
999MP-NS200P - Genuine Nissan NS-2 CVT Transmission Fluid (get 6 or 7 to be safe)
31726-1XE0A - Filter Assembly (Qty. 1)
31526-1XA01 - Drain Plug O-Ring (Qty. 1)
Warm up car. Drive for about 20 to 30 minutes if you place is cold. Check level before starting the process when engine is idling after going from P to D then back to P. You will drain about 4.5 quarts out. Filter will also contain about a half quart. Replace O-ring when closing pan after drain. Pour same amount as you drained and check level.

1. Buy 6 or 7 quarts of Nissan NS2 CVT fluid and an external filter, along with a drain plug gasket. Replace yourself. See the other threads you posted in
