1995 Maxima Instrument cluster idiot lights and gauges not working

1995 Maxima. Automatic.

I took out my cluster to replace my check engine light.

Turned on key to ON position and didn't start engine. All is good. Started engine and lights and gauges worked as they should. Went and put it all back in. Lights were on and gauges were fine. Turned off the key turned it back to ON and went to turn the screw on the ECM to pull the codes. Looked up at the cluster and had NO LIGHTS at the bottom.

NO Oil, Brake, Battery Air Bag or Check Engine lights.

Started car. Runs fine. NO readouts from gauges and no lights except the High Beam, Turn Signals and the O/D Light.

The ONLY light that comes on when I turn the key to the ON position is the O/D light.

I've checked all the fuses inside and outside. All are good.

The cluster illumination lights work when the Headlight switch is turned on in the "running light" mode and the "headlights ON" mode.

Non digital Instrument Cluster.

I'm stumped.

Any help wud be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

First thing I'd do would be to make sure all the connectors you took off (cluster, emergency flasher, etc.) are fully plugged in.

Check you didn't forget any of the bolts with little washers behind your cluster as they are used as conductors on the pcb. Check they're tight too.

Clusters on 95's are awful, I'm having similar issues on mine

SOLVED: I swapped out the circuit board from a 1996 Infinity

Got it all figured out.

All my connections and screws were tight. I didn't unplug anything or even mess withthe screws. I only replaced the Check engine bulb.

I took the circuit board portion off of a 1996 Infinity and swapped it in. Everything works great.
