1997. GLE Automatic. Normal domestic USA model. Not Cali. I believe I need a new ECU. Is this a simple plug and play swap? Is there any programming required.
I see many of them listed on Ebay for around $20.
Is there a specific part number I need?

The only ECU swap that gets sticky is for a 99 model with NATS. As long as you get another 97 model GLE Automatic you should be fine. I take it you don't have Transaction Control.
