I started to hear a scratchy vibrating sound from behind the glovebox?

Hi all,

Recently I've been hearing a super annoying vibrating noise from behind the glove box area whenever I ride over rougher pavement/small bumps in the road. It's almost like a scratchy vibrating sound that sounds like it may be coming from behind the glovebox area. It's definitely worse when its cold out. Just wondering if anybody has had anything similar pop up for them? I'm gonna bring it up for my next service. I know they did find a loose screw back there before once. Maybe it's related to that?

It seems like a certain frequency of vibration sets it off consistently but the car seems fine and hasn't changed driving feeling at all.

Thanks,

Can't say I've heard that one yet, but it's a matter of fact that this car develops more squeaks and rattles when it's cold outside.

I have the same problem, it's mostly when it's cold outside and when the car flexes and go over bumps, i wonder what's the problem and what the dealer can do to fix this

These cars make some noises in the cold for sure.....I had a similar "scratchy sound", was a very cold day...went away when it warmed up. You think these are Noisy, you should have driven my 02 SE with more cheap plastic than any human should endure.

Sorry, I am flipping between forums, my Above comments were related to an Altima, but I am sure hold true to the Maxima....even though they have much higher quality materials. All cars make noises in the cold..they do not like it

While it is true about the cold, I'm in the desert Southwest so by cold I really meant like 40ish degrees, BUT its 70's now and still making the noise over any constant vibrations. It's too bad cause the 2010 Altima I had back in the Northeast didn't develop a single rattle in the whole time I had it and my mom drives it now over 100k miles and still quiet inside (well as quiet as an Altima's NVH gets lol)
