Storing my Maxima for a couple of months

So I was laid off yesterday because of the Covid19 pandemic and the closure of all nonessential businesses in my area. I don't need two vehicles in service so I've parked the 2017 Maxima SV and just have basic fire/theft insurance on it. My guess is that it will be out of service for the next three months.

Is there anything special I need to do to prepare it for storage? I have it parked in the garage and will probably pull it out once a month and start it to charge the battery and get the fluids flowing.

BTW, if anyone is looking to hire an IT Professional in the Greater Toronto Area, for permanent or even some project work, please let me know.

3 mo, I would just throw a battery tender on it and call it a day. Stabilizer in tank, fill , drive until stabilizer gets all through fuel system

Sadly I do not have a battery tender. Perhaps one of my relatives has one that I could borrow. Thanks for the suggestions.

Actually you need to get the car on the road each time you start it otherwise, you would not get all the moisture out of the oil, etc just idling. Use Stabil or Sea Foam additive to keep the gas mixture from water build up too. If it were me I'd get the battery tender attached and leave the car unstarted for those months. Be sure to lock the car so the electronics also goes into a deeper sleep.

I think you would be causing more harm by starting it once in awhile, try Canadian tire for a mini charger or
go to craigs list etc. for a used one. Good luck.

Absolutely, if you start it....drive it...long enough to get it to operating temp. If you don't....let it sit. My MR2 Sits for years at a time and has done so since 1990.

Thanks for all the great advice guys. I was able to get a charger on Amazon Canada for a cheap price I could afford. I really appreciate the help and that is why I love this forum!
