what is wrong with my door locks?

Ok Guys...
The automatic door locks on my 89 SE are appearanly fu*#!@ up. Whenever I try to unlock the doors either using the key from the outside OR from the button on the inside, the damn thing automatically Locks itself back INSTANTLY! This is a very large pain in the ***, and I hope this isn't a precursor to a larger electrical problem. Can anyone offer any help, ideas, similar experiences with me? I know that Kaleb mentioned something about door lock timers to on his site, however he also mentions that 80-91 SE's don't have door lock timers! What's the dealiO? Thanks in advance -BK

try doing a search on the subject. it's been mentioned recently by some other 89-90 owners. I forget whether they found the problem or not, but the posts shouldn't be hard to find. good luck.

Try holding the handle up while your closing it once you've locked it from the inside already.

Well, it sounds like it thinks you've locked the car again using the driver's door. If this is the case, then perhaps it's just the switch or sensor (that detects when the driver's door is locked) is out of order.

i don't have to touch anything...just turn the key to turn the engine off
it's like my baby doesn't want to let me go! it doesn't do it too often, but it's been happening more and more lately. but it doesn't bother me

ive had that problem occassionally... once i almost got locked in my car when i managed to pull the handle.. at the precise wrong time!

but after i took off my entire door panel... i played around in it for a few.. and nothing... never figured it out... still happens on occasion... no biggie tho

my car does the exact opposite. When i try to lock it sometimes, it automatically un-locks right after i lock it. Sometimes my door handle won't even work. Dunno what is going on but if any body knows it would help a lot.

The same thing happens to me, and ya i just lift my door handle, slam it shut, then let the door handle spring down.
