2011 SV 130Kmiles, Downshiffting coming to a quick stop

Perhaps one of you fine gentlemen can be of assistance. My well maintained 2011 SV is great, love it.
However, I recently noticed that when coming to a quick stop, the CVT downshifts very quickly, almost slows the vehicle down beyond the braking pressure. Perhaps a programming issue ? Fluid is clean.
I'm a very conservative driver, always in D, never above 2500 RPM's I have never rodded the car.
Let me Know !!

You mean engine braking? does it also happen on downhills?
If so then that is normal behaviour
You can have it turned off if you want.

You can have it toned down a little with the right software or at the dealers.

Check out CVTz50 on Google Play.
You need a bluetooth OBD adapter too.

Someone told me it's intentionally designed to do that to make you feel like you have gears.

This transmission gets weirder and weirder the more I learn about it.
