When I see a seventh gen the same color as mine was , I get a little nostalgic. That car was majestic. This is more nimble (2011 sv vs 2017 sr), I love my 8 th gen, but I miss the looks (and maybe softer ride) sometimes.

 

I owned a 2010 Maxima loaded and do miss some of the features it had like auto up and down rear side windows, a rear seat armrest that had controls for the radio and heating. That said, the 2010 was not as refined with the engine and the CVT. Had 10 less horses too.

 

The performance is definitely better on the 8th gen. I don’t want my old car back, but it was a looker.

 

I miss the 5 speed manual on my 4th gen Maxima, but my 2016 is still fun to drive.

 

There is nothing like a 5 spd 4th gen. Its the Best Maxima ever made. #Savethe4thGens

 

Reminds me of my 6 speed 6th gen.

 

I did not own 7th gen. But I have driven it briefly when I had 8th gen. For some reason it felt a bit more cozier and a bit more premium than 8th gen. I don’t why maybe I’m just being crazy.

 

I still have my 2009 maxima Sv. Only has 80k on it. And runs like new.
I do love my 17 maxima tho

 

That makes sense. The 7th gen does feel cozier. The 8th gen feels more like a fighter jet cockpit (like I would know what that feels like).

 

We must be brothers, your '09 SV looks like my old '09 SV, except for the mods. And your '17 Max is the same as mine, except for the mods.

 

I stopped driving my 7th Gen 2 weeks ago, and just started driving a 8th Gen about 2 days ago, and yes, I miss my 7th Gen, the 8th Gen drives nothing like the 7th Gen, it doesnt drive anywhere near as sporty ,and drives very similar to our '19 Murano( they share the same platform so its not surprising)

 

Driving a 2019 Platinum, had a 2012 SV. What I miss on the 2012: stereo (USB drive is low volume compared to other sources. My 2017 Titan with RF 12 speaker is better), paddle shifters I had on the top trim (not available on top trim Platinum), and the lack of rattles. What I love on the 2019 over the 2012 though is it's styling, performance, and interior space/materials, gauges, center stack/console, powertrain refinement, and mpg.

 

Good comments and I do agree. my 2010 Premium also had the paddle shifters which were de contented on the 2016s and up on top of the line Platinum's.

 

First impression is definitely like some sort of a cockpit. I remember picking my friend on my W211 at Nissan dealership back ‘15. He had some maintenances with his Altima. So I wondered around the showroom and got my self inside Maxima. First thing I felt this is definitely a driver’s focused vehicle. Although I knew Maxima is not really a sports sedan.( CVT, FWD and etc) But I kinda felt that cockpit feeling... 2 years later had nothing else on my mind so I bought it. Enjoyed every bit of it!
