Cruise control issue

I have had an ongoing issue with the front radar control on my '18 Platinum that keeps you a set distance behind the vehicle that you are following. I am not talking about when it rains or snows (I understand that will affect it.) I am talking about on clear sunny days. I get a signal that it is unavailable at random times and then it resets. I have had the device adjusted by the dealer and it still happens. The funny part is that it seems to happen at a couple of specific points on the routes that I drive. I am starting to think that cell phone towers or other objects that emit some form of signal might be the cause. Am I crazy? Anyone else have this issue? Thoughts?

I also have a 2018 Platinum, and had intermittent problems with the adaptive/intelligent cruise control. It would randomly become unavailable, restarting the car would correct the problem for a while. My car had a faulty radar sensor. There is a TSB on it here, Maxima TSB ICC .

This system works on Sonar so I am doubtful that cell tower frequencies would be the culprit.

I think you might be referring to the backup, front and side alarms. The ICC works off a radar input which is not the button sensors in the bumpers. Rather the radar antennae is behind the right front bumper cover.

I stand corrected. Thanks.

I have a related intermittent issue with my 2016 SL cruise control. At times the car icon beeps & blinks and the slowdown mechanism kicks in. This happened five times last week on I95.

Sunny, clear day. No other cars in front or anywhere near me.

I stopped trying for obvious reasons.

This has happened in the past but not consistently.
