Anyone tint their pano sunroof?
Anyone tint their pano sunroof?
My shade broke and dealership wants $3k to fix, most shops don’t even want to touch it because of the amount of labor that goes into it and they don’t even know how to do it...
I decided to tint it but the tint shop advised not to because they said that it’ll trap heat and shatter... I began doing my research and almost everything I’ve read has people saying that they’ve done it with no issues... most of those were old posts
I have a 2017 maxima.... is it safe to get 20% ceramics tints? I’m really running out of ideas and options and I don’t want to pay $3,000 for a stupid shade.
what I noticed is that the shade will move into the closed position but will not go back in the retract position... anyone have any idea as to what may be wrong? Is it definitely the motor? Is it just the shade guide? Or do I just need a new shade? Replacing the motor alone is like $1500...
thanks for the info... I got a stupid Nissan so I wouldn’t be forking over a ton of money on repairs, who knew that a stupid should would cost almost as much as replacing a damn transmission... what a stupid set up on the part of Nissan

I don't have first hand experience though some time back, one of our contributors fixed his sunroof shade. He said the problem was getting the fabric back in the track. You'd have to drop the headliner to see the issue. Try a goggle search for how to do this. Usr A wrecking yard to source the parts. Report back on what you do.
PS I would never tint the sunroof if you are in a warm climate.
