Sorry for the stupid question (HD radio)

I recently upgraded from an 18sv to a 21 platinum. It doesn't seem to have HD radio which is mind boggling to me, but what do I know? Was this removed from the 8.5 gens? Google didn't help me much. I can't see why they'd remove this feature

According to Nissan website HD is standard for 2021 on the SV SR and Platinum models. Are you in range of an HD transmitter?

My 18 had no issues with picking up HD radio. Is it possible it's turned off in my 21? I went through settings and couldn't find anything, but maybe I missed something

I believe you have to turn the feature on in the settings. It’s been a while and I can’t recall where the setting is, but it was an on and off option in 2017.

With a CD player, AM/ FM, Satellite radio, external inputs, and access to your music on your phone, what is the need for HD radio? curious as to this...and it is a standard feature on you car...

I enjoy some of the HD stations I had with my last maxima. It's not make or break, but if possible I'd like to have those stations. I went through every setting possible and can't turn it on or seem to get it to work. In my 18 you pressed the fm menu and that had an HD radio option in it, in my 21 it doesn't give me the option

The HD radio information is covered in the 2021 Nissan Maxima NissanConnect Owners manual starting on page 3-3.

You can download a free, no cost copy here, one might be in your glove box packet of manuals and guides.

Thanks, but that litterally tells me nothing. All it says is HD radio needs to be activated and then tell yous to go to page 3-15 which tells you how to scan for am and fm stations. Also, I've read through the manuals, that's why I am here.

Call the radio station to see if they are in fact transmitting the HD signal. Their analog signal might be transmitting but HD might be off line.

Call your dealer and ask "how do I activate HD radio?"

For what it is worth I found where the setting is on my 17. First you have to start FM via the Audio source screen (the one with SXM, AM, FM, Bluetooth, etc.) Once FM has loaded, there is a FM Menu button in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Tap on that and you should see the option to turn HD Radio on and off. Might be worth it to check and see if the option is there. Hope this helps.

Is there even a "HD Radio" indicator on the radio screen? My '19 SL shows this, when on an orange dot next to "HD radio" is lit and when a HD signal is detected the HD radio symbol turns orange. If you tap on the symbol everything gets grayed out indicating it is off. Sound difference is very noticeable between HD and analog.
