I'm guessing that that's the most miles that you've ever put on a car? Of all of the work done on the car over the years what percentage was done by you verses a shop? And one more question - original tranny?

Yep most miles I have ever put on a car with the original motor and transmission. I do the minor maintenance items (e.g. brakes, pulleys, oil changes, cvt drain and fills, plugs, ball joints, power steering, etc,) but left the major stuff (tires, alignments, alternator and AC) to the pros.

That's an impressive testament to both you as the caretaker and to Nissan's product for longevity. Of the 20+ new cars I've owned my fifth generation was the best, although, my 8 year old seventh gen my well surpass it. Congratulations.

I hear ya. With the Pandemic, I've been working from home. Before I would do an oil change (5000 miles) every 4-6 weeks. I haven't put 5000 miles on the car since March of 2020. But I hear we are going back to the office after the summer so she should be ready for her oil change by then. I will start getting her ready again. Last time I got her washed the folks hit the power connector on my dash cam (yeah, my fault for not disconnecting it) so replacing that with a front AND rear version. (I really see some weird stuff out there!)

LMAO!! Thanks!! NOTE: For those you are new to this forum or haven't paid a lot of attention, USER1 knows good and well how far the moon is from the earth. His singular wit is very appreciated by me as is his technical advice. However you need to know he isn't beyond using a bit of hyperbole to make a point!

You've inspired me to rack up the miles on my 2010 Maxima. So far I'm at 171k miles but I'm now going to keep my car until I hit 1 million miles or it suffers a major breakdown such as an engine failure of some sort or it gets hit and totaled. If the tranny fails I'll get it fixed. I now wish I had kept my 97 SE or my 03 SE, both manuals. Either one of those cars would have well over 300k by now.

My bride doesn't understand why I keep my car. She keeps hers to the shiny wears off and then on to the next. This one just fits me and I am NOT looking forward to finding a replacement for her. If the tranny fails....oh that would be tough...not sure I would keep her after that but until then, I will keep on smiling!!!!

I have no doubt the Lt.'s CVT will live forever. He does the necessary maintenance. He's pushing half a million. If he got it this far, it'll keep going.

That car will last Lt until the wheels literally fall off! He's faithful to her maintenance!

I can only pray mine lasts that long. Have you done anything besides the routine maintenance?
I just hit 177K 2010 SV Premium.

No, the only major items were the Alternator, AC, and Radiator and I let the pros handle those. Plugs, Power Steering, Suspension Components, brakes, hoses, etc all on me. Things that normally need attention on a 10+ year old car!

Question How much for all the hoses?

How much did you pay for all the hoses LtLeary? Is there a kit you can buy that comes with them all?

I just went to AutoZone and started grabbing packs of hoses in every diameter they had! For heater and Radiator hoses, just went to RockAuto. I really couldn't tell you what I spent at AutoZone as I consider those "Shop Expense Items" along with brake cleaners, maf cleaners, grease, gojo, etc.
