I need a new set of injectors.

I finally got my car running. It was indeed a problem with injectors. Currently I have a set of cheap amazon injectors, and though it runs it feels like it'd running rough. It only makes sense that I need a better quality injector. Long story, but no I don't have the oem injectors anymore. Is there a brand name that is going to work better? I do have Amazon gift card to be able to get the hitachi's for $400 (are those good)? Or is there alittle cheaper route that other have found that will work just as good? There is alot of variety on ebay that use buzz words like oem and refurbished but no brand names that I've seen.

You could probably get those Amazon injectors flow tested, balanced and blueprinted at a shop for around $25/each or so.
There are several places that people have used. I went with RC Injectors (formerly RC Engineering) in SoCA. I bought a set of rebuilt JECS fuel injectors from eBay and had them gone over by RC. The "before" specs were pretty bad, considering they were supposedly "rebuilt".

So that's what I did with a pair of cheap injectors from ebay. Well the longer story is that I bought cheap injectors before doing research, found that cheap r bad. Tried to return but too much time had passed so i just let it go. When i finally pulled the oem ones out I send them out for all that $20 each. Guy said they were so bad he could try but wouldn't guarantee they would be good afterwards cus of how bad they were leaking(makes sense cus i was getting a ton of gas in my oil, which is why i pulled them in the first place), so in the moment I told him I had those cheap ones... send those to him. He said the cheap ones were good, he said he cleaned them and all, and also said the orm ones were throw aways and he wouldn't put those near a motor again. Stupid me got them all back, and threw the oem's away for some reason. I usually hoard **** so not sure why I did that

I think the reason the cheap injectors didn't work was someone in another comment mentioned sometimes they get stuck open from the cleaning and you just have to dry test them to make sure they click?...

Put the cheap ones in, and that's what my other posts were about. Got a cheap pair off Amazon cus didn't know if it were the injectors or not... finally swapped to find it was the injectors the whole time. It's running right now, seems kind of rough tho, it's lifted up... but my guess it's the injectors which yes they are just cheap ones I installed to make sure it were the actual injectors.

Now I am on the hunt for a good pair of injectors, now that I know that is the issue forsure.

The oem injectors can be rebuilt so that they function like new.

oem injectors were of high quality.
New discount injectors may or not be.

I had my oem injectors rebuilt by
Injector RX in Houston.
they charge 18 dollars each.
I m very satisfied with their service.

I suggest finding a set of oem injectors at a wrecking yard. Send them perhaps 8 of them. Give them instructions to rebuild 6 of them..

Ik im very sad and frustrated that i threw away the oem ones -.- nit sure why he said they were bad. I usually keep stuff like that, but honestly thought the injectors were good to go. Guess not. I'll hit some junk yards and try to find em... this time I'll send them to Rx should have done that in the first place.

But are there any name brands online that people have found to work good? Are Hitachi the oem's that ship in our cars?

As I recall, Hitachi was an OE supplier as were Mitsubishi and Hanshin.

He uses ONLY JECS OEM injectors for our cars to rebuild and the set of six are matched. No need to send any back to him either.

In the promo code area, put: Maxima.org for a discount. Hopefully that's still in place.

He has an eBay seller account as well.

You’re an adept DIYer?

When I say “be sure to oil the injectors before installation”, you know what I’m saying … right?

God, I hope so. How many members have we helped that struggle with the installation and tear up the o-rings....

They would slide in nice if you lubed them.
They would not leak and cause symptoms like you have.

Ones which were not lubed would also slide in with a bit of force.

The rubber O ring would catch on the side of tge well it fits into. The O ring would tear.

That could cause leaking and running issues.

So tell us whether or not you lubed them

When i said indeed, that was... indeed, I did lube them. The leaking was from the original oem injectors that were never touched, which is why I had to go through the process of changing them out, as they were 24 years old and in bad leaking condition as stated by the company i sent them out to. But all should be good now, Injectors that were linked above are on the way arriving Monday.

Thank you again, this is the info I was looking for! The injectors are arriving Monday, and when they get installed this ordeal should be put to rest. Much appreciated!
